About me…
I’m a photographer, writer, filmmaker, entrepreneur, and conservationist.
My creative journey began in my grandfather’s darkroom, in a modest one-story home in the Illinois cornfields. He was a factory worker by day, photographer, and Dixieland band musician in every other spare moment. He gave me one of his old Nikon’s when I was 7 and a portal opened.
Photography, writing, reading any book I could get my hands on, and movies were my childhood obsessions. My love of storytelling first took me to film school in Vancouver, then to live and work in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York where I freelanced as a photographer for several years before venturing into new creative spaces. In Boston, I founded Rollerr, a live, social media tech company whose premise was “shared presence,” designed to utilize bleeding-edge technology to connect us to the precious, yet impermanent nature of time. Over the years I’ve also worked to create Kapsole; a product in the apparel space which re-invents the rain boot or traditional “galosh.” Collaborating with chemists and engineers to perfect the vision has landed us on our final iteration as we transition our proprietary polymer to a bioplastic, making Kapsole 100% biodegradable.
My passion for wildlife conservation and storytelling led to me making a documentary feature on Human-Wildlife Conflict in Africa which has just finished post-production.
At this stage, I’m looking to create meaningful work with others who share similar visions and passions and who strive to leave this world a little better than we found it.
