UNDERWATER
All aqua images were shot underwater while scuba diving at various dive sites around the world, at depths ranging from 15 to 100 feet. They begin first as photographs of bubble formations coming from oxygen tanks, and afterward, layers of color are added to create a painted, abstract effect.
Outer space was the original source of inspiration and the parallels it shares with the underwater world, along with the notion of “inner space” as it relates to our perceptions. The addition of the color layers extends this exercise by transforming the original image, exploring the fleeting nature of moments and emotions and how they can dramatically change from one second to the next, yet all have their place and validity.
The longitude and latitude coordinates are the location of the dive site and are written in the bottom right-hand corner of the photograph.
Half of the profits from each sale will be donated directly to ocean conservation efforts, and a card will be sent with your print letting you know which organization was the recipient of the donation.
